Painter, draughtsman and engraver Dutch Harmensz van Rijn Rembrandt born in Leyle on July 15, 1607 was the Dutch painter most outstanding of the XVIIème century. In addition to its tables, a hundred etchings or engravings and more than one thousand of drawings belongs to its creations which, today still practically enjoy a popularity without equal. Tables and drawings carried out by its pupils or copied by imitateurs who take again his style very exactly make difficult the final attribution of works. Thus tables known as the Man with the gold helmet (Staatliche Museen, Berlin) are recognized today by the historians of art as being copies. After a short formation at Lastman, famous artist of Amsterdam which has the time supported the comparison with Rubens, it opens its own workshop in Amsterdam and form its pupils. In its first official orders the influence of Lastman is still very clear but the dramatic regrouping, the more intense luminosity, the precision of the observation and made more human of the scenes, characterize already its individual style. The characters lit laterally in parts which are in the half-light make qualify its work of " life of passions " (Huygens 1629).Il chooses the moment of the account where the action is with its roof what involves an effect of dramatic culmination. (Judas returning the thirty sums of money, the Resurrection of Lazare). The selected composition in an adequate way, lighting as well as description full with sympathy, gives to works of Rembrandt, compared to his contemporaries, of very particular qualities.

Apart from the tables of history and biblical scenes Rembrandt paints also many individual portraits, studies of aspects and self-portraits calling often upon the disguise. By doing this it analyzed and fixed states of hearts, typestyles and roles. When those Ci are not too figurative as it was of mode in the Dutch upper middle classes with XVIIème they become a surprisingly penetrating reproduction psychological what confers the aspect of instantaneous to them and a presence such as one has the impression that they will become animated… As regards the portraits of Rembrandt group shows there all his know-how in scenic qualities: the setting in scene and the concern of the detail giving all their significance to the table, the Syndic of the Clothiers, 1662, thus show an intense concentration in the glance of that which raises the eyes of the table of the negotiations, thus returning all the veracity and all the intensity of the scene simply by a very brief detail. Very chaotic, the end of its life was nevertheless one prolific period from the point of view of art. After the sale of its goods, of its house and its withdrawal of the public life, despite everything, its continuous work to evolve/move and its increasingly personal style and original enable him to lead to masterly works. Many experts and critical underlined the great proximity with the models and with dimensions " the deeply human one " of its works. Rembrandt, the eighth wire of the miller of Leyde in Holland, all objectivity, can be regarded as one of the most astonishing and talented personalities of the world of European art.
